  3. Basic Infantry Training - Explained All members who wish to join our unit in a solider capacity, whether that be Infantry, EOD, Armour, or Army Aviation, must complete their Basic Infantry Training irrespective of if they're brand new to MILSIM and ArmA or if they're a seasoned veteran. This document will bring light to what that entails.. Our training programme is administered by Staff Section 4. All of their instructors should be qualified to train you in BIT. What's covered? All modules will be covered to ensure everyone has the same information, although veterans of ArmA and MILSIM should go through the modules faster. Introduction to the unit and our structures. Our expectations, the basics of using our mods (ACE 3, ACRE 2, ect.), an introduction to signals, an introduction to navigation, an introduction to our medical system, weapons and explosives drills, formations, close quarters battles, and a few other notable standard operating procedures. How long will this take? This is heavily dependent on your experience, how willing you are to participate, and how quickly you pick up on things. You can plan for a general maximum of 3hrs, although it could still take longer than that if needed. Nobody will be entering our operations without a clear understanding of our procedures. Can I fail? Yes, although generally not for getting things wrong. The training is there to teach you, not so much as to test you. What will cause you to fail is a lack of effort, a bad attitude, or disengagement.
  4. How We Achieve Realism Attitude. Attitude is one of the key ways we achieve realism. Everyone comes to operations with the same goal, and that is always to have a realistic and immersive experience, and therefore everyone's actions and attitudes in the game reflect that. This, in of itself, creates something most units don't have. Procedures. We have lots of procedures. We do them by the book. We practice them over and over if we fail. We have training's for everything in order to make sure that it is as good as it can be. One life. In operations, we only have one life, end of story. If you die in the first 5 minutes of combat, you're out for the night. This means our members value their lives a whole lot more as it could mean an end to their night if they don't. Equally, if your pilot crashes during insert, your night is over. Your pilot learns from that mistake, and it doesn't happen again. Hard difficulty. All our AI is set as hard as it gets. Our players do not have massive performance buffs. Our modifications are difficult. Structures. Our structures are, from our information, as close to the real world as we can get. There are very few places in which corners are cut. Signals. Our signals is as real as it gets. Unparalleled by other units in the region.

Frequently Asked Questions Are you a "yes Sir, no Sir" unit? To an extent. Outside of operations, rank is largely irrelevant. We do not expect (or even want) you to address any one by rank while people are just chilling in the TeamSpeak. Although, in operations, we do enforce appropriate forms of address to superiors, especially outside of your immediate superiors (i.e Section Commander). With that said, we do not require you to address officers as "Sir or Madam". Instead, you may address them by their rank as we know some may find that uncomfortable. You will not be yelled at for getting this wrong, although you may be pulled up if it appears that you are never making an effort. (Rule 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2) Note, this still applies to Zeus' as you will have a rank in game. Do you have an attendance requirement? For people holding a role in the ORBAT (Order of Battle), yes. 75% of all Friday Night Operations must be attended. We do however allow for arrangements to be made as long as the appropriate Sergeant Major and Staff 1 members are on board. If this will not work for you, we have a reserve unit. (Rule 2.1) Note, Zeus' can opt to be off ORBAT, although that does mean no promotion opportunities and you will still need to turn up when you commit to Zeusing. Do you use mods? How big is your modset? Yes, we use mods. Our modset is quite large in order to achieve our goal of realism. It is about xxGB. 7. Entry Level Separation An Entry Level Separation is the discharge grade for those members who are still on their probational period. 1 to 2 Operations - Standard Enlistment Process At least 30 days - Delayed Entry Programme An Entry Level Separation is regarded as a moderate severity discharge. You will be able to reapply, although this could cause an extension of your enlistment process in the future. Reasons an ELS could be given: Failure to complete Basic Infantry Training. Immaturity. Rule Breaks.
  8. Standard Enlistment Process If you are aged 17 and above, you will go through our Standard Enlistment Process. This is a sweet and simple process that gets you into our operations, while giving us a chance to ensure you are a good fit for the unit. Initial Enlistment Once you've submitted your application, it will have the status of "Submitted". You are now in the queue and our recruitment team will review it at their earliest convenience. What can you do in the meantime?: If you haven't already met with a recruiter on Teamspeak then do so at your earliest convenience. Application Accepted Once your application has been accepted, you will need to download your modifications (You will be taught how to do this following your interview) and then complete our Basic Infantry Training. Once you have completed your training, you will be allowed to attend operations, come to all community meetings, and do additional trainings although you will not immediately be promoted to Private. For most people, promotion to Private occurs in the debrief of either their first or second operation. At the point of your promotion to Private, you will be considered a full member of the 1st Brigade, and will be eligible for additional promotions, appointments, and election to our officeholder roles. At this point, you will be transferred into either the Reserves, or be assigned a position on the ORBAT. You can read more about that here.
  9. Delayed Entry Programme If you are aged between 15 and 16 years of age, you may have noticed that if accepted, you would've only been accepted into our Delayed Entry Programme (DEP). This unit has a clear goal of providing an immersive environment for our members, and with that comes the need for an age restriction. 17 is our age restriction for general members, although we do have an occasional exceptions for extraordinary recruits. The Delayed Entry Programme gives us a chance to asses our underage applicants over an extended period to ensure that they are the right fit for the unit. You must understand that this is a community primarily for adults. Conversations and conduct within our operations may not be stable for younger ages. If it becomes clear to us during this time that you are not appropriate for the community because of your inability to function in that environment you will be removed. What are the implications on you? As someone in the DEP, you will have an extended probation period (30 days, compared to a minimum of 14 for standard recruits). This allows us to asses your maturity and attitude during operations. During this period, you will still be able to attend operations, take part in trainings, and come to all community meetings just as a standard member would although you will not be eligible for any appointments to Staff Sections, for election as the Community Adjutant, or promotion Once your Time in Service (TIS) is 30 days it is on you to contact your first line leader (IE: Section Commander) to inform them that they have met the 30 day TIS. From there the chain of command (Section Commander, Sergeants ect.) of that recruit and relevant S1 and S4 personnel will discuss that recruits activity/maturity levels for that 30 days and either approve or deny their full membership. If approved: The recruit will be promoted that day (will not have wait until the next promotion ceremony). If denied: The recruit will be reassessed on if they need to complete another 15/30 day probation or given a entry level discharge. (Failure to complete basic training within the 30 day probation will result in automatic denial and given another 15/30 day probation to complete or may result in entry level discharge).
